ABSTRACT:
Background: As health professionals, various distractions like toys, music etc. can be used as diversion therapy to reduce the pain. The use of music as intervention for relieving pain has increased in recent years, prompting its growing use among the people of the western world. However, among Asians, music has long been used for this purpose and continues to be so today. Despite this common knowledge. Objective: a)To assess the knowledge of mothers of school going children regarding diversional therapy .b)To associate the knowledge with selected demographic variable. Material and Method: The study was conducted in selected community area of vedharbha region. Survey research approach was used in this study.150 mothers school going children were selected for the study. Structured knowledge questionnaire were used to collect the data. Result: Majority of mothers (56%) had very good and (24%) of subject had good knowledge and (19%) subject had excellent knowledge regarding diversional therapy. Conclusion:-after detailed analysis, it was found that significant difference was found in knowledge.
