ABSTRACT:
“A healthy child is a sure future” is the theme of WHO. New born period is the most crucial period in the child’s life. All the systems are trying to adjust extra uterine life, but in case of baby takes with low birth weight the baby may not able to adjust or facing some critical condition in extra uterine life. With this reason the present study is conducted to find out the effect of KMC on physiological parameters among LBW. The study was conducted in IMS and SUM Hospital, Bhubaneswar with a sample size of 50 neonates by using observational checklist. The research design adopted for this study was quasi experimental with one group pretest and post test design. The mean of the body temperature after of KMC is 36.19 which was more than the before (35.81) KMC. The mean of Respiration Rate (after) was 61.41 which is clinically effective than the before KMC which was 60.1. The mean of Heart Rate (after) was 141.16 which was also more than the before (139.58) KMC and Similarly the Oxygen Saturation mean value after the KMC was 97.90, it was also more clinically significant than the before (97.16) KMC.
