ABSTRACT:
To determine the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on self care among patients with casted limb in RMMCH, Chidambaram the researcher used one group pretest and posttest design. The pretest reveals that the knowledge on self care management of POP cast before the structure teaching programme was (100%) inadequate. After structured teaching programme (30%) moderately adequate and (70%) adequate. There was a significant increase a level of knowledge of patients between the pretest and posttest. The following conclusions were drawn from the finding of the study the patient had inadequate knowledge regarding self care management of Pop casted limb in pretest . After administration of structured teaching programme the knowledge score was improved. So the teaching progamme improved the knowledge regarding self care management. Thus the curriculum itself has the innovative teaching method to impart the knowledge of the patient. So the patients have the interest to know about self care and acquire adequate knowledge. Thereby they can improve themselves from diseases and improve their healthy status.
