ABSTRACT:
A quantitative approach non experimental univariant descriptive research design was used for the study. 30 samples selected from school in Kottakkal were selected by non probability purposive sampling technique. Socio demographic data were assessed using socio-demographic performa. Data were analysed and interpreted by descriptive and inferential statistics. Data collection tool were structured interview schedule, checklist and Sahli’s hemometer for assessing hemoglobin level. Results and conclusion: The analysis revealed that, 83.3 percentage of adolescent girls have mild prevalence of anemia and 16.7 percentage of adolescent girls have moderate prevalence of anemia. There is a significant association between socio-demographic variables with prevalence of anemia. (pvalue<0.05).
