ABSTRACT:
Introduction: Computer is a device that computes, especially a programmable electronic machine that perform high speed mathematical or logical operations or that assembles, stores, correlates or otherwise processor information. Mobile radiophones, often is an automobile that uses a network of short range transmitters located in overlapping cells throughout a region with a central station making connections to regular telephone lines. Mobile phones is sound transmitter. mobile phones have many benefits like with help of mobile people communicate very far with each other. mobiles joint the people but have many ill effects too physical as well as psychological. The main objectives of the present study were 1.To assess the knowledge regarding ill effects of excessive usages of computer and mobile phones on health of adolescents. 2.To find out the association of knowledge with selected socio-demographic variables. Methods: The research approach used was quantitative research approach. The setting was Sacred Light Senior Secondary School, Amritsar. The sample includes 50, +2 students selected by Purposive Sampling Technique. The self structured knowledge questionnaire on ill-effects of excessive usages of computer and mobile phone on health aspects. Results: The findings after the test showed that the mean post knowledge is average (60%) regarding ill-effects of excessive usages of computer and mobile phone on the health. (32%) adolescents have good knowledge and (6%) have excellent knowledge and only (2%) have poor knowledge regarding ill-effects of excessive usages of mobile phones and computers. Conclusion: Findings of the study concluded that more adolescents have average knowledge rather than good and excellent regarding ill effects of excessive usages of mobile phones and computers.
