ABSTRACT:
“A study to assess social media addiction among college students in a selected college Kottayam,” conducted by the 3rd year B.Sc nursing students of Little Lourdes College of Nursing. The sample consists of 60 college students selected by convenient sampling technique. It was a descriptive survey with quantitative approach. A modified social media app addiction rating scale consist of 30 descriptive phrases used to rate the response from respondents and questionnaire to collect socio demographic variables. Rating score at median level considered as moderate users, above median level considered as dependent users and below median level considered as non dependent users. The major findings of the study revealed that 41.7% were dependent users, 50% were non dependent users and 8.3% were moderate users. The present study revealed that dependent users were on border line.
